As you all know, this year was my first holiday experience! It was not at all what my parents expected, to say the least!
What they expected:
1. For me not to be interested in the food...and only want mommy's milk.
2. They expected I would tear down the tree at every chance.
3. They thought I would eat the wrapping paper and play with the boxes
4. They thought I'd cry when I got my picture taken with Santa
Au contraire, I was very well behaved, and acted far above my age. I didn't allow myself to be entrapped by the beauty of the lights, or snarled in by the glistening ornaments; instead I played with the nativity scene! It was interesting....it didn't taste very good...it was pretty heavy; and it hurt really badly when I dropped it on my foot.
On another note... the food....THE FOOD!!! Did mommy really think I would make it until my first birthday to eat solid food? When I saw daddy drooling all over his plate, I knew I wanted to try something yummy! So mommy gave me some veggies...YUMMMY. Well, I like them now because I don't get much else, but I am willing to bet once I get the good stuff, I will be like every other normal kid and hate my veggies! After all, once you watch Veggie Tales, you can never look at a veggie the same right? That's what they said in Baby School...mommy hasn't let me watch TV yet, so I don't know yet.
Ha, they thought I would eat the paper? Really? Don't they know that causes constipation? Then again...I guess it has been a LONG time since they were at paper eating age. That was so last week for me. Any whooo...I opened my own gifts, until I got bored...and I didn't just stop at the paper, I tried getting in the boxes. I got some great gifts thanks to my grandparents...my parents gifts were weak, they said I wasn't old enough to really need anything so I got pajamas, boots, 2 books, and a sippy cup.
As for the last expectation my parents had: crying on Santa's lap...Clearly my parents were not listening to the radio on the way to the mall..they played that song, "you better not POUT....you better not CRY..." Shoot, I wanted my toys, I couldn't cry! He was quiet large. I was fascinated by his fancy outfit!
Basically, I had a great time. I saw many of my aunts and uncles, but not all of them and some cousins and my grandparents. And lets not forget, I saw Santa! That is a pretty great Christmas/Thanksgiving season if you ask me. I hope you all had a great one too! I never made it to new years...I just woke up and well, it was a new year. I guess I will have to wait a few more years to experience that one!
Peace and Love to you all!
