Mommy's Favorite Things

My mommy keeps telling me about how big I'm getting. She is always telling me her favorite things about me...I like that! She keeps changing her favorite things though...I guess it is because I am so awesome and everyday I do something fun or funny! I will give you examples.

When I was first born, mommy loved my gummy smiles I would give while I was sleeping. Then she loved milky smiles I would give while eating. Now she is in love with other things! Like today, she told me how much she loves when I act like her or daddy. They think it is cute when I do push ups like daddy or when I brush mommy's hair with her brush (well I try to brush it..I'm working on my motor skills, so it's actually more like beating mommy upside the head with her brush, but she gets the concept!). Mommy and daddy also love how every time I wake up I have to wave and say 'hi' to the birdies in my room (the owl decals on my wall). Mommy's newest favorite thing I do is blowing on my food! One time I saw mommy do it, so now I do it too! Oh she also loves how I can point out body parts like 'eyes', 'nose' and 'mouth'. She tells me I'm one smart cookie!

As you can see, I may not always obey, but I will always imitate what I see. This is a constant reminder for my parents to always be godly, even when they don't feel like it....because someone may be watching...and that someone may just be me!

Hope you all have a beautiful weekend, I will be having my first birthday party ever! I heard talk of there being a glow in the dark bath!!! I love baths! Love you all!

Preparing for my big day

As you all know, my birthday is fast approaching. I hope you have all been contemplating the perfect gift for me! Mommy and daddy say I don't need anymore toys...I bet their mommy and daddy never said that to them when they were my age! Mommy says why waste money on toys when all I want to do is play with her kitchen toys! That is just craziness!

Mommy and I have been planning my big day. I can't believe I will be 1 already! I know I grew fast. Mommy and daddy were not expecting me to be sitting and rolling over at 4 months, pulling myself up at  months and cruising furniture by 5 1/2-6 months....and the definitely didn't think I'd be walking by 9 months; although they should have seen that coming when I was crawling stairs at 5 months. I have been learning sign language and big girl words. I am one "smart cookie" mom says. She is always telling me to kiss my brain, silly mommy!

So for my birthday I chose owls as my theme, just like my room! Mommy was all about owls before they became popular...now she is sad that everyone else jumped on her bandwagon! Anyway, mommy was challenged by a friend to keep my entire party under $30....food and all! Oh and it has to be "pinterest worthy". She has made pretty decorations. I can't wait to show you all pictures!

Mommy has a lovely surprise to post to facebook on the day of my birthday VALENTINES DAY....but she said it is a secret and I can't see it until then! Well I am off to take a nap! Peace and Love!

Holiday Fun

As you all know, this year was my first holiday experience! It was not at all what my parents expected, to say the least!

What they expected:

1. For me not to be interested in the food...and only want mommy's milk.
2. They expected I would tear down the tree at every chance.
3. They thought I would eat the wrapping paper and play with the boxes
4. They thought I'd cry when I got my picture taken with Santa

Au contraire, I was very well behaved, and acted far above my age. I didn't allow myself to be entrapped by the beauty of the lights, or snarled in by the glistening ornaments; instead I played with the nativity scene! It was interesting....it didn't taste very good...it was pretty heavy; and it hurt really badly when I dropped it on my foot.

On another note... the food....THE FOOD!!! Did mommy really think I would make it until my first birthday to eat solid food? When I saw daddy drooling all over his plate, I knew I wanted to try something yummy! So mommy gave me some veggies...YUMMMY. Well, I like them now because I don't get much else, but I am willing to bet once I get the good stuff, I will be like every other normal kid and hate my veggies! After all, once you watch Veggie Tales, you can never look at a veggie the same right? That's what they said in Baby School...mommy hasn't let me watch TV yet, so I don't know yet.

Ha, they thought I would eat the paper? Really? Don't they know that causes constipation? Then again...I guess it has been a LONG time since they were at paper eating age. That was so last week for me. Any whooo...I opened my own gifts, until I got bored...and I didn't just stop at the paper, I tried getting in the boxes. I got some great gifts thanks to my grandparents...my parents gifts were weak, they said I wasn't old enough to really need anything so I got pajamas, boots, 2 books, and a sippy cup.

As for the last expectation my parents had: crying on Santa's lap...Clearly my parents were not listening to the radio on the way to the mall..they played that song, "you better not POUT....you better not CRY..." Shoot, I wanted my toys, I couldn't cry! He was quiet large. I was fascinated by his fancy outfit!

Basically, I had a great time. I saw many of my aunts and uncles, but not all of them and some cousins and my grandparents. And lets not forget, I saw Santa! That is a pretty great Christmas/Thanksgiving season if you ask me. I hope you all had a great one too! I never made it to new years...I just woke up and well, it was a new year. I guess I will have to wait a few more years to experience that one!

Peace and Love to you all!
